Different sports make different demands on the individual especially on legs and feet. Runners, for example, usually need to cushion their feet as the heel strikes the unyielding track and also to give maximum purchase to spring the body forward. A footballer playing on grass relies on being able to change direction at a whim with a twist, a dodge or a leap. A goalkeeper uses his feet one way, the striker another.
What footwear you use is as important as how they are worn. The way you walk or run is as unique as your signature but, like your signature, it can be changed. The differences may be marginal but so is the difference between coming first and second.
It is for this reason that many famous sports men and women use our diagnostic biomechanics as a means to improve their performance. Following analysis, we use computer aided design to create specially made orthoses (insoles) that are fitted into the shoe and individually moulded to suit the left or right foot or both.
