Heel Pain - Plantar Fasciitis

Definition: A very painful condition that affects the thick fibrous tissue extending from the heel bone to the toes. It is often associated with poor foot or leg function and may be aggravated by people who are overweight.

Treatment: We prefer non-surgical treatments over the very risky surgical procedures. We recommend anti-inflammatory drugs in the short term, apply stretching and manipulation accompanied by dry needling (acupuncture) or, as a last resort, steroid injections. We will also supply night splints and orthoses. Treatment can take a few weeks to some months in chronic cases.
